The curriculum prepares you for the music and entertainment industries via a rigorous 125-credit hour course progression, weekly contact with prestigious industry professionals, hands-on learning opportunities, a semester in Los Angeles, and a study abroad semester in London, England. You are part of a small, selective class of 25 students per year.
The program focuses on music as it functions in all media, particularly new media. This exciting field is the new frontier where media consumption is constantly evolving. Opportunities abound for young women and men of all backgrounds to shape the future of the music business.
In addition to home college coursework in the College of Visual and Performing Arts, many courses in SU’s S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications, the Martin J. Whitman School of Management, and the College of Arts and Sciences are included.
The Bandier Program leads to a bachelor of science (B.S.) degree in recording and allied entertainment industries. The program does not require an audition for admission.
Applicants with traditional music training and a performance background should also consider our excellent music industry program. This program, which leads to a bachelor of music degree, includes music business and applied music study. It also fine tunes artistic and business capabilties. An audition is required for admission.
