All programs in the Department of Design are housed in The Warehouse, Syracuse University’s seven-floor building in downtown Syracuse. The Warehouse’s open, industrial space was recently renovated to contain professional studio facilities for each design program; two shared computer labs; a printing lab; and Design Works, a fabrication lab. COLAB, the Department of Design's center for collaborative learning, is housed on the fourth floor of The Warehouse and provides common space for students, faculty, and visitors to meet and work. COLAB sponsors and organizes a variety of multidisciplinary projects and activities each year that bring in visiting designers, guest speakers, and community groups to work together with students and faculty in all of the Department of Design’s programs.
