Study abroad
_Students in the School of Art and Design are encouraged to study overseas through Syracuse University Abroad.
In the Department of Design, the University’s center in London, England, offers special opportunities. Communications design students are invited to apply to participate in the semester-long London design program during their junior year. This program offers you the opportunity to take courses in collaborative design and contemporary design history, complemented by studio and academic electives, in a world capital renowned for its cutting-edge design. You will better understand your host culture and its rich tradition of artifacts by participating in a specially designed open studio environment. The focus is on the user experience—studying the user and how he or she interacts with a given situation. The program includes guest lecturers and visits to professional studios.
SU Abroad offers other study abroad locations through the World Partners Program, including Australia, Costa Rica, India, Ireland, Israel, Japan, and Russia. World Partners programs in Africa include options in Egypt, Ghana, Kenya, Namibia, and Tanzania.
