Art Workshops for Young People

The fall 2012 sessions begin September 15 and end November 17. Since our space is limited, please call or send in your reservations as soon as possible. Remember: your child must be at least 5 years old.

The fall 2012 workshops are scheduled to be held in rooms 045 and 051 of the Comstock Art Facility, 1055 Comstock Ave., Syracuse. The faculty instructor is Dr. Sharif Bey. Tom Montague is the teaching assistant. There are six age groups for the children and a variety of art mediums are used. The age groups are taught by the SU Methods Course undergraduate and graduate students; the workshops serve as their practicum prior to their more formal student teaching experience.

The workshop fee is $65 ($35 for the second child in the same family) and includes our culminating event for the students and their families and friends. Do not send cash. You may bring a check (made out to Syracuse University) or cash to the first session.

Your reservation(s) will be acknowledged, and a confirmation e-mail will be sent to you. If you should have a change in plans and your child(ren) will not be able to attend, please call Patti Gavigan, art education office coordinator, at 315-443-2355 so that we can admit a child on our waiting list.
