As a student in the Department of Transmedia and the College of Visual and Performing Arts, you are part of a creative, collaborative community within a university of endless possibilities.
Your fellow VPA students and faculty are visual and performing artists and communication scholars who present exhibitions, theatrical performances, concerts, recitals, presentations, and lectures. You will enrich your personal and professional life with classes from SU's other schools and colleges, and you can attend University Lectures, Syracuse Symposium events, and more. You can explore the galleries and exhibition spaces of the University's Coalition of Museum and Art Centers, including SUArt Galleries, Light Work, and the Urban Video Project. Beyond the University, the city of Syracuse offers a lively cultural scene, including the Everson Museum of Art, one of the premiere museums to first dedicate itself to new media arts, and the Syracuse International Film Festival, whose founder and artistic director is on the Department of Transmedia's film faculty.
