Our master of fine arts (M.F.A.) degree program in illustration is designed for committed students with superior illustration skills and concepts who also have some professional experience in the field. You receive individual attention from a faculty of nationally recognized professionals. Their expertise is complemented by prominent visiting artists.
This program is well suited for individuals who wish to further their illustration skills, as well as those who desire to teach. The program integrates individual studies with opportunities for the student to sit in on undergraduate illustration classes to observe how illustration is taught. Students will be offered the option to teach.
Application deadline: February 1 for fall admission (January 1 if you are applying for a McNair Graduate Fellowship or a University African American Fellowship). Illustration currently does not offer spring admission.
